About the event
NACHMO is an organization that seeks to build a connected, active, and inclusive community of dance makers across the world. While choreographers often focus on product and performance, NACHMO focuses on the joy of the fast and sometimes messy process of making a dance against a deadline. Through our daily choreography prompts for the month of January (National Choreography Month), the goal is to create new works through a process that is shared among varying communities.
The Southeast Michigan National Choreography Month Dance Concert features brand new dances from 18 different choreographers, representing professionals and amateurs alike. This is the second year for Dance Uprising to host this event, and the first time for us to officially partner with Terpsichore Collective! Both dance companies share a goal of building a professional dance community and dance audience in the Ann Arbor area, so this partnership is a no-brainer! We are excited to…
